People believe that you don't need the background history of a topic to understand what is going. however, they're wrong. For example, in order for people to distinguish how the Navy Yard changed Brooklyn's economy and society. In the year 1801, the Brooklyn Navy Yard, also known as the New York Naval Shipyard, was established by President John Adams. This Navy Yard is located on 63 Flushing Avenue, along the East River in Wallabout Basinanad. As years pass, WWII hits the U.S. and the navy yard that contributed the most was the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The Brooklyn Navy Yard built ships and air crafts that were used during the war and these weapons were very durable. However, years later when the war ended, the Brooklyn Navy Yard closed down in 1966, but during 1969-1981, the Navy Yard re-opened as an industrial park. Today, the Navy Yard is opened for tourists to admire.
